The Striped Skunk has been illegal in NH for a long time due to it being classified as a Level-1 rabies-vector species among wild populatons. With a regulatory change in the summer of 2007, we are excited to be the first NH Zoo / traveling exhibitor to be able to offer a captive-bred skunk as a part of our programs. Skunks are NOT legal to possess in any New England State without proper state wildlife permits.
Though they live in our back yards... it is unlawful to take them into your home or keep them as a pet.
