Wildlife Encounters Zoo has for years been providing a home and proper care for animals in need of rescue... either from poor owners or that were confiscated by law enforcement. Our audience will meet and learn about a variety of animals and learn their personal stories. Reptiles once ruled Earth, and today they rule the imaginations of kids of all ages. Learn the fascinating histories and modern realities of lizards, snakes, crocodilians, turtles & tortoises! They are not the monsters to be feared that some think, but they all deserve our protection and respect.

We are probably the only animal program in Northern New England that will NOT put a snake around your child or student's neck - and we're proud of it! We believe in teaching by example.

In New Hampshire there are very few regulations preventing private ownership of large and very dangerous reptile species. Our Wildlife Educator will usually take a moment to stress to young audiences the fact that most reptiles are not appropriate housepets. Through education, it is our goal to help curb the irresponsible and unethical sales and purchases of "disposable reptile pets".NOTE: Effective Summer 2007, all Crocodilians are "Controlled Species" by NH Law and banned from the pet trade. This means our Educators may no longer allow contact with any of our Alligators or Crocodiles.
